3 John

The Word Is Alive

Third John

About 50 years after the death of Jesus, one of if not the last surviving apostle, had relocated from Jerusalem to Ephesus in modern day Turkey. This is a personal letter to John’s dear friend Gaius, whom John congratulates in the manner of his discipleship. He also discusses a man called Diotrophes, who is opposing John’s authority, refusing to help missionaries and denying other members of his church from assisting them either.
